Lola May Grover (Phelps) age 86, passed on August 11th, 2023, at her home with family.

She was born in 1937 in Becker County to Martha and Vernon Phelps. Her family moved frequently when she was young, but later settled in Cohasset MN. Lola was united in marriage to Richard (Dick) Grover, of Grand Rapids on August 7, 1954.

Lola enjoyed dancing, cooking, crafting, sewing knitting, canning, and gardening. She was best known in her later years for her lap weaving. She made placemats, blankets, and some wall hangings, then gave them away. Lola loved being a grandmother and spending time with her grandkids. Lola often stated, "take it one day at a time." She was a member of the Calvary Pines Baptist Church.

Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Grover; her parents; her sister, Marion (Kenneth) Kalstad; brother, Benny (Bev) Phelps; son in-law, John Brohman; grandson, James Brohman III; and one great-granddaughter. She is survived by her 6 children, Cindy (John) Brohman; Martin (Mary Lipscy) Grover, Ethel (Tom) Warren, Sally Grones, Molly (Steven) Goplin, Polly Jacobs; 17 grand kids; 40 great-grandkids; her sister, Viola (Honey) Grover (Phelps); brother, Kenny Phelps; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, sister in-laws, brother in-law.

The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice for all their support during this time.

Her life and blessings to all who know her will be celebrated on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the Cohasset Community Center, Cohasset, MN with a visitation beginning at 10 AM and a memorial service to follow at 11 AM. Chaplain Richie Danielson will be officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Cohasset, MN.
