Mae Hausman age 94, died Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Grand Village in Grand Rapids, Minnesota with her family at her side.

Mae was born May 30, 1931 in Cohasset, Minnesota, the daughter of Elsie (Bertram) and Del Rupert.  She grew up with eight brothers and sisters.  Mae graduated from Grand Rapids High School where she was a student at the Central School in downtown Grand Rapids.

Mae married Dywane Hausman and together, they raised their family of four children.  After their children were older, Mae took a job at the Ben Franklin Store where she managed the Lunch Counter, retiring after 27 years of service.

Mae can be remembered as a devout Christian woman who always attended Bible Study.  When she had time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and crafts.  Her beautiful flower gardens were special to her and she looked forward to her weekly Card Parties with her friends.

Mae is preceded in death by her husband, Dywane in 2016; her parents, Del and Elsie Rupert; daughter-in-law, Marlene Hausman; granddaughter, Kerri Hill Bennett; five sisters and three brothers.

She will be deeply missed by her children; Gary (Amm) Hausman, Bonnie (Chris) Davis, Laura (Mike) Summers, and Sharon Wiermaa; grandchildren, Shawn Pound, Becky Miller, Mindy Hill Bennett, and Heather Hausman; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
