Margaret Larson, age 101, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Grand Village in Grand Rapids, MN.

Margaret was born to Lawrence and Florence Hensel in Bemidji, MN on January 2, 1923. She started school in Dorset, MN, and later moved to the countryside where she attended a small red schoolhouse. Margaret graduated from Nevis High School in 1939. On March 29, 1946, she was united in marriage to Leonard Larson in Brainerd, MN. In 1959, she relocated to Grand Rapids, and then moved to Florida with her daughter Jan in 2021 before returning to Minnesota. Margaret was a member of First Lutheran and actively participated in the Mission Quilters and Northwest Bible Group.

Margaret is survived by daughters, Susan Drotts of Deer River, Jan (Jerry) Malwitz of Grand Rapids, and Julie (Al) Cicioni of Pennsylvania; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; son, Greg; daughter-in-law, Kaylene; son-in-law, Bruce; parents; and two brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Friday, March 1, 2024 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, MN following the 10 am visitation. Rev. William Zeige and Rev. Patrick Lovejoy will be officiating. Burial will be at Itasca-Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MN following the service.
