Obituary

Marian Mueller, age 79, of Cohasset, MN passed away peacefully with her family at her side on August 13, 2024, at Miller Dwan Hospital in Duluth.

Marian was born in November 1944 in Wadena, MN to Herman and Agnes Marsh.  She grew up in Long Prairie, MN, where her father operated a turkey farm, and graduated from Long Prairie High School in the class of 1962.  After graduation, Marian worked in Alexandria, MN as a dental assistant before marrying her high school sweetheart Art Mueller in 1964.  Marian and Art honeymooned in Washington state and stayed for a time in Marysville after Art found work in the lumber industry.  The couple returned to Minnesota in 1965 and were blessed with two children, Claudia and Chris.  The family returned to Washington in 1968, where daughter Corie was born.  The couple returned to Minnesota in 1973 to raise their children and settled in Cohasset.    Marian and Art retired to a new home in 2006 which allowed them more time to enjoy the woods and beauty of outdoor Minnesota.

Marian was a loving and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother who was ready to lead the charge on an adventure in the Northland with her children, including annual trips to Bayfield, WI.  She was a regular on the garage sale circuit and was always on the lookout for pottery that caught her eye.  She enjoyed engaging in lively conversation on a variety of topics and was always willing to give her opinion.  She was the source of "creative" hot dishes that her children talk about to this day.  She enjoyed time with friends, traveling, playing the piano, knitting, crafting, camping, and the outdoors.

Marian is preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Art; children, Claudia (Mark) Stolley, Chris (Katherine) Mueller, and Corie (Tom) Goodrich; brothers, James Marsh and Randy Marsh;  and seven grandchildren.
