Marion Marie Melius, age 96 passed away at her home in Val Verde, CA on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Marion was born to Victor and Lena Edoff of Swanville MN on November 18, 1929, and moved with her parents to the Freestone area of Grand Rapids in 1931.  After her marriage to Roger Dean Melius, she lived in the Blackberry area before moving to LaPrairie.  She had great pride being a top-notch Itasca County Realtor for 47 years.  After she retired, she moved to the small community of Val Verde CA.

Marion enjoyed embroidery and sewing, especially sewing quilts for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  She enjoyed reading, sudoku, gardening, and canning.  She was an excellent cook and baker, always being asked to make bread and buns from scratch.  But her greatest enjoyment was traveling and spending time with her large extended family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, grandson Sean Melius; granddaughter Meghan Allen/Melius and her brothers Raymond, Alfred and Carl; and sister Trudy.

Marion is survived by her children Michael Melius of Bovey MN; Joyce Melius of Val Verde CA; Pamela Melius of Val Verde CA; Patrick Melius of Remer MN; and Roger (Rocky) Melius of Kingman AZ; five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, four great, great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rosella Cechini of Golden CO, Mildred Karg of St. Paul MN, and Delores Proctor of Norman OK; brother, Lorence Edoff of Hermosa SD; and many nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, May 8, 2026, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.  S.A.M. Sharron Lewis will officiate.  Marion's final resting place will be Hazelwood Cemetery in Blackberry MN.
