Matthew Albert Broadrick, age 42, of Grand Rapids, MN took the great ride to the sky on April 28, 2026, at his home in Grand Rapids, MN. Matt left this mortal stage, leaving behind a legacy of rebellion, great music, and head-banging mosh pits. As a Simple kind of Man he flew as Free as a Bird.

Matt (as he was known to friends and family) was born in Lancaster, CA in 1983 to Richard J. and Michelle (Kilroy) Broadrick and grew up in Palmdale, CA. After Elementary and Junior High, in Palmdale, CA, he received his GED Alternative Learning Center in 2002 in Grand Rapids, MN.

As a divorced father of 3 sons and a daughter, he was a warrior when it came to his children.  Matt enjoyed rooting his children on at wrestling, taekwondo and Special Olympics. Matt worked for the Best Western Plus Grand Rapids, Mn which he thoroughly enjoyed. He thrived at Customer Service and several handyman jobs.  When Matt wasn't working, he enjoyed time with his kids, rock concerts and spontaneous motorcycle rides.

Matt is survived by his mother, Michelle D. Broadrick and his father, Richard J. Broadrick; sons, Corey Douglas-Dale Beier (22), Jayden Cortes Broadrick (17), Aaliya Jean Broadrick (12) and Ziggy James Broadrick (8); his sister's family, Maraih D Broarick and her son Dominyc Matthew-Rain Lewis (18) and her daughter Coral Essence-Amber Locke (17); his brother's family, Jeff R. and Jess (Tangedahl) Uonites and their daughter Kyleigh Uonites (23) and their sons Gaven Uonites (21) and Jaxson Uonites (21) and Damyien Uonites (19); and his sister's family, Amanda and Jake Jackson and their son Elijah Jackson (11) and their daughter Ellie Jackson 9); and his sister's family, Susan and Mason Hardy and their daughters Ava Hardy (11), and Tessa Hardy (9) and Sophie Hardy (9) and their son Phoenix Hardy (7) ; and his sister's family, Jasmine Bergstrom and her sons Abel Bergstrom (11) and Dakota Bergstrom (7); and childhood friends Roderick Muro and Dennis Turk.

An celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 2:00pm at the Triple L establishment, Bovey, MN.
