Obituary

Nadine (Heinzer) Perrington age 91, of Deer River, MN passed away peacefully at home surrounded by all her children on Thursday, November 23, 2023.

Nadine was born December 5, 1931 in Cohasset, MN to Louis and Margaret Heinzer. She grew up in the Cohasset/Grand Rapids area. She married Leonard Perrington on August 6, 1949. Nadine was a homemaker and wonderful mom to her twelve children and grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother to all of her many grandchildren.

The Perrington home was known as the local Kool-Aid house to all the neighborhood children, and the coffee pot was always on for the adults. She loved gardening and her flowers were beautiful. Her vegetable garden was huge, and she canned or froze all that was produced. She loved to crochet, quilt, read, cut boughs at Christmas time, and many other hobbies. She always had a project going.

Nadine was gentle and caring, who had a big heart and was the family rock. Her door was always open. She will be forever missed by anyone who knew her.

Nadine is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Margaret Heinzer; husband, Leonard; son, Jesse; great grandson, Dylan Walker; brothers, Louie and Allyn Heinzer; and sisters, Marjie Judkins and Lois Lane. She is survived by her daughters, Jackie (Jim) Hanson,  and Patty (Eric) Henry; sons,  Bill (Mel), Louie, Joe (Dian), Rick (Jayne), Steve (Kathy), Tom (Sheila), Dan (Mary), Paul, and Gary (Em); sisters, Flora Conklin, Karen Gobel, and Tressa Kiphuth; brother, Judd (Brenda) Heinzer; 41 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
