Nancy Jean Hermiston, age 76, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024, at The Pillars in Grand Rapids, MN.

Nancy was born in Grand Rapids, MN in 1947 to Wallace and Eleanore Major. She graduated from Grand Rapids High School. She was united in marriage to Albert "Herm" Hermiston on September 6, 1969. They raised their family in Grand Rapids and Nancy worked as a paraprofessional for I.S.D. 318. Nancy lived and loved well for the glory of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because of her great love for Him, the overflow of her life was that of peace, kindness, humility, gentleness, faith, and so much love.

Her heart was fullest when her "family could all be together". Whether gathered around the table for meals, sitting at a campfire, or watching family movies (with lots of salty and buttered popcorn of course!). She so enjoyed days with family buzzing around her with laughter, conversation, playing the card game golf, or watching and cheering (somewhat aggressively!) for the Vikings!

Nancy loved to bake (her frosted brownies and date bars some of the favs!); always having something sweet and conversation ready for anyone who dropped by.

She had a sweet and gentle spirit and was always ready to listen, giving of herself. She cared deeply and had great empathy and was willing to step into another's heartache and struggle to pray, support, and encourage.

Nancy will be missed beyond words but we are so thankful that as she entered into the Lord's presence there was truly fullness of JOY for her as she heard, "Well done good and faithful one!"

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert "Herm"; and brother, Curt Major. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Stacy (Steve) Ashley of Lakeville, MN; son, Jason (Shawna) Hermiston of Bagley, MN; four grandchildren, Eleesa (Nick) LeDoux, Dawson, Peyton and Mykaela Ashley; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Grace Bible Chapel in Grand Rapids, MN, followed by an 11 AM funeral service. Rev. Matt Boyd will officiate. Burial will be at Itasca-Calvary in Grand Rapids, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
