Noah Myles Abercrombie, born December 18, 2019, grew up in Bovey, Minnesota, and passed away on September 17, 2026, at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis.
Noah’s life was full of energy, mischief, love, and an unmistakable care for others. He could almost always be found outside—digging in the dirt or sand, racing around on his bike or scooter, collecting chicken eggs, climbing trees, splashing in the water, or finding his next adventure. Bare feet were preferred, Crocs were acceptable, and his toes usually told the story of just how much time he had spent outdoors.
He was endlessly curious and creative, always discovering what he was capable of and coming up with new creations along the way. He loved cutting paper, drawing picture after picture for friends and family, and making things with the kind of ingenuity that constantly surprised those around him. He loved rainbows—all the colors, in order, of course—and somehow managed to have both a strong sense of order and an “oh, shiny!” kind of pizzazz.
Noah loved Scooby-Doo and would happily watch every episode Mom and Dad allowed. He adored his hedgehog stuffies, loved food with an enthusiasm that somehow left Mom wondering if she could ever feed him enough, and was always ready for something fun. He was sneaky, silly, and full of personality, with a beaming smile that so many people have said they will always remember.
For all of his energy and mischief, Noah was also deeply tenderhearted. He noticed when people were hurting and would pick flowers for them when they were down. He loved hard, felt everything deeply, and cared for others in a way that seemed far beyond his years. His prayers at the dinner table were often some of the most tender and thoughtful prayers his family had ever heard, and he would happily fight for his turn to pray. His love for Jesus was evident, and one of his favorite worship songs was “Build My Life.”
Noah was affectionate to the max. He loved snuggling Mom and Dad, and bedtime kisses were rarely complete until they reached 100. He adored his sisters, Kylie and Joslyn “JoJo,” and loved and cared for them in the best way. With his friends, he could be found jumping into the water, traipsing across playgrounds, riding ATVs, digging in the dirt, or simply finding some new way to make the day more exciting.
His family often joked that with his sweet heart, charm, and affection, he was going to be a heart-stopper of a husband someday.
Noah had a way of making people feel alive, loved, noticed, included, entertained, hugged, and cared for. He brought joy, laughter, motion, tenderness, and light with him wherever he went.
Noah is deeply loved by his parents, Andrew and Reisa Abercrombie; his sisters, Kylie and Joslyn “JoJo” Abercrombie; his grandparents, Calvin and Bonnie Kangas and Mark and Kathy Abercrombie; his 10 aunts and uncles; his 13 cousins; and a wide circle of family and friends who loved him dearly.
A ‘kid friendly funeral service’ celebrating Noah’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Grace Bible, 2452 Co. Rd. 76, Grand Rapids, MN, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Families are encouraged to attend together. The service is being planned with Noah’s young friends in mind and will be welcoming and appropriate for children of all ages. Together, we will remember Noah through some of his favorite music, special memories, and the joy he brought to so many lives. Children are welcome to simply be themselves as we gather to remember their friend Noah and celebrate the wonderful life he shared with us.
