Pearl Caroline (McKim) Brown, age 90, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away January 14, 2025 at Majestic Pines from complications of Alzheimers.

Pearl was born May 17, 1934 to Roy and Clara (Carney) McKim.  She grew up in Blackberry, Minnesota graduating from Grand Rapids High School.  On June 7, 1952, Pearl was married to James S. Brown.  They made their home near Grand Rapids, raising four children.  In 1970, Pearl returned to school at Itasca Community College where she earned her LPN degree and then worked many years at Itasca Memorial Hospital.  Most of her time there was in the OB unit.  Pearl loved caring for the babies!  Upon their retirement, Jim and Pearl spent their time attending auctions and flea markets, searching out treasures to add to their vast collection.  They also enjoyed trips to Colorado to visit daughter, Lori and spending winters in Arizona.

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jim; daughter, Lori Vacek, granddaughter, Heather Pavelich Pierce; parents, Roy and Clara McKim; brothers, Bill, Jack, Edward, Alfred, Frank, and Leonard; sisters, Pauline Robertson, Diane Snibley, and Ruth Martin.

Pearl is survived by sons, James (Brenda) Brown, Michael (Cathy) Brown, and daughter, Ruth Thouin (Fuzzy Staydohar).  Pearl has nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Pearl's family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all the staff at Majestic Pines, for their professional and very loving care given to Pearl.  Also, to Essentia Hospice, especially, Kaila and Steven, for their unending care and support.  Per Pearl's request, no services are planned.
