Peggy O'Dell Swedberg, 81, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Pillars of Grand Rapids after a two year long and courageous battle with cancer.

Peggy was born to Elmer and O'Dell Wehde in Grand Rapids, MN in 1942.  Peggy, originally from Goodland, MN, attended Nashwauk High School where she met her future husband, Robert "Bob" Swedberg. On September 1, 1962, Peggy and Bob were united in marriage. After living in the Twin Cities and Bemidji, they settled in Grand Rapids, MN in 1967. Peggy worked for Honeywell and later at Grand Rapids Savings & Loan for 25 years before retiring. They lived on Pokegama Lake for 32 years before moving to The Pillars. Peggy was dedicated to her family and always ensured their happiness and well-being. Her absence will be deeply felt.  Peggy enjoyed wintering in Florida, fishing in Canada, gardening, spending time on the lake, reading, playing bridge with her friends, picking apples on the farm which she would turn into tasty treats, and most of all fussing over her grandkids.

Peggy is preceded in death by parents, Elmer and O'Dell Wehde; and a sister, Nancy Strom.

She is survived by her loving husband Bob; sons, Richard "Rick" (Cheryll) of Bovey, MN and Timothy "Tim" (Denise) of Cohasset, MN; 4 grandchildren, Danae, Jake, Luke, and Ashley; brother, Perry (Pat) Wehde of Anderson, SC; extended family and many close friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 7, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids, followed by the 11:00 AM Memorial Service at the church. Rev. Ben Buchanan will officiate.  Inurnment will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Columbarium.
