Phillip Joseph Gibeau, age 89, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024 at Grand Village in Grand Rapids, MN.

Phillip was born in 1935 to Mose and Doria Gibeau in Brooks, MN where he grew up and attended school.  Phil worked on the family farm before moving to Grand Rapids, MN where he worked at Gamble's Hardware Store and then at Blandin Paper Company for 42 years. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, working as a mechanic, fixing small engines, and building and renovating trailers. Phil was also a member of the Itasca Vintage Car Club.

Phil is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Estelle Logan and Elaine Dufault; and a grandson, Jim Gibeau. He is survived by his sons, David (Barb) Gibeau of Grand Rapids, MN, Brian (Tracy Jensen) Gibeau of Grand Rapids, MN, Michael (Kristi) Gibeau of Cohasset, MN, Daniel Gibeau of Dublin, GA, and Paul (Kim) Gibeau of Grand Rapids, MN; sister, Bernie (Duane) Mann of Cohasset, MN; grandchildren, Mark (Maria) Gibeau, Brandon Gibeau, and Blake Gibeau; and three great-grandchildren, Grady, Joelle, and Derek.

A visitation will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024, at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Cohasset, MN beginning at 10 AM and will continue until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at the church. Fr. Blake Rozier will be officiating. Burial will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Cohasset, MN.
