Randy Lee Rassatt Sr., age 69, of Grand Rapids, MN, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 21, 2025.
Randy was born in Minneapolis, MN on February 16, 1956, to Robert and Carol Rassatt. He attended Grand Rapids public schools. Growing up, Randy was involved in saddle-breaking horses, snowmobiling, ice skating, motorcycles and being a prankster.
Through mutual friends, he met his wife, Susan Pirtle. They were married in Texas on February 7, 1981. Through this marriage they were blessed with three children: Shannon, Jennifer and Randy Jr. He spent much of his life working at Gaughan Plumbing Company and D&T Trucking.
He enjoyed spending time camping and fishing on Lake Vermillion with his family. Randy had a huge passion for all things horse and western related. He loved going on 4-wheeler rides, attending boat shows, living on the farm, grilling, fishing and deer hunting. Randy had an appreciation for all things outdoors!
Randy is survived by his children, Shannon (Andrew) Carlson of Ramsey, MN, Jennifer Ugwuegbulem of Becker, MN, Randy Rassatt Jr. of Grand Rapids, MN and Cynthia Rassatt of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Desmond, Brynn, Victoria, Shelbie, Kevin and Brittany; sister, Sandra (James) Morgan of Arlington, TX; nephews, Jeremy (Valerie) Liversage of Carrollton, TX and Bucky Pirtle Jr of Unionville, MI; nieces, Brandy (Clinton) Wallace of Arvada, CO, Darcy (David) Farr of Georgetown, TX and Mandy (Michael) Szarenski of Needmore, PA; and many other relatives and friends. We would like to give a special thank you to Pat and Carla Wiswell for everything they have done for our dad.
He is preceded in death by wife, Susan; parents, Robert and Carol; and brother Ricky Ronald.
A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M - 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 21st at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge with his burial to follow at Cambridge Lutheran Cemetery.
