Raymond L. Nellis, age 81, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Grand Village Nursing Home.

Ray was born in 1941 in Deer River, MN to Leo and Cleo Nellis. He married Sandra "Sandy" on July 20, 1963. Ray retired from the US Air force after serving for 20 years, from 1959 - 1979 years. He then returned home and worked for 20 more years at MN Power, retiring on July 31, 2004.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Raymond; and granddaughter Ashley. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sandy; daughters, Rebecca and Roxanne Nellis; son, Randy (Vicky) Nellis; brother, Bryon (Vail) Nellis; grandsons, Christopher, and Neil.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 28 at Rowe Funeral Home, beginning at 12:00 PM and lasting until the 1:00 PM memorial service. Burial will be at Itasca Calvary Cemetery with full Military Honors. Mary Shideler will officiate.
