Richard William Guertin, Sr, age 72, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 8, 2023.

Richard Guertin was born in 1950 to William and Marie Guertin in Grand Rapids, MN. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1969 and married Barbara Jones on September 6, 1969. They lived in St. Paul, MN briefly before settling in Grand Rapids in 1971. They lived on North Bass Lake Road in rural Grand Rapids since 1981, where they raised three children. Richard enjoyed winter and summer fishing, deer hunting, boat rides, card games, and gardening. He was a member of the NRA, and 2 darkhouse spearing associations. Richard was a kind, strong, caring, giving, and hard-working man. There is nothing he loved more than riding and working on his white Bobcat tractor.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patricia McLaughlin, and Sandra Bush; and son-in-law, Andy Kemppainen. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Jackie (Brian) Churack, and Vicki Kemppainen; son, Richard (Tammy) Guertin Jr.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 12 PM at Calvary Pines Baptist Church in rural Grand Rapids, MN, followed by a funeral service at 1 PM. Pastor David Taplin will officiate.
