Richard W. Heinrich, age 77, of Cohasset, MN, died Friday, May 15, 2026, at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital, Grand Rapids, MN.

Richard was born in 1949 to William and Bernice Heinrich in Grand Rapids, MN. Richard graduated from Grand Rapids High School then enlisted in the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Cohasset where he began working at Itasca Utilities before starting with Itasca County's road and bridge department.

Richard loved fishing the river and hunting and he was an accomplished woodworker. His favorite pastime was watching NHRA racing and attending the Brainerd International Speedway where he held season tickets for a number of years.

Preceded in death by his parents, William and Bernice. Richard is survived by his daughters, Andrea Ufheil of West Salem, WI, Alicia (Dave) VanDenHeuvel of Bemidji, MN; son, Jamie Heinrich; sister, Barbara (Brian) Stevens; brother, Jeffery (Jackie) Heinrich; and grandchildren, William, Grace, and Isabelle; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN followed by the 11:00 AM funeral service. Burial and military honors will be at Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN.
