Richard "Rich" Swann, 67, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at his home in Grand Rapids, surrounded by his devoted family, after bravely enduring a brief battle with cancer.

Richard Alan was born June 1, 1957, in Freeport, Illinois. At age 15, Rich and his family moved to Alexandria, MN. In 1975 Richard graduated from Alexandria High School.  He moved to Grand Rapids and worked at Swann's Auto Body for about 10 years. After that time, he became an automobile insurance adjuster. Initially working independently and later worked for Travelers Insurance. Yet, it was in the everyday moments that Richard found true joy - whether sharing stories and laughter over coffee with his "Top Secret" coffee group or demonstrating his innate talent as a Jack of All Trades.

Rich will be dearly missed by his by his loving wife Rita; son Joseph; daughter Jessi; his adored granddaughters: River and Austyn; stepfather John; sisters: Teresa (Robin), Amy (Eric); along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother Jackie; brothers: John and Donald.

A Celebration Of Life will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Harris Town Hall, 21998 Airport Rd, in Grand Rapids.

In the silence of our hearts, Richard's laughter and kindness will forever resonate, reminding us of the enduring impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the great love that forever surrounds him.
