Rick Blundell, age 62, passed away peacefully in the arms of his family on June 8, 2025 at his home in Remer, MN, after a hard-fought and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on January 3, 1963 in Chadron, NE, the son of Ronald and Judy Blundell and younger brother to Ronnie ('Ryan').

Rick grew up in East Peoria, IL and attended Northland High School in Remer, where he met his best friend and future wife, Elizabeth ('Lisa') Fundaun. Rick and Lisa were married in Longville, MN, on June 26, 1982.

The couple moved to Minneapolis, MN shortly after getting married, where Rick attended the Minnesota School of Business to pursue a degree and began a career as a manager at Menards.

They welcomed their first child, Jack, in 1984. Shortly after, Rick was presented with an opportunity to relocate back home, as manager and then owner of Remer Junction Oil (1985 to 2007). While establishing a loving family foundation in Remer, Rick and Lisa were blessed with their two daughters, Stephanie and Mercedes, in 1987 and 1992.

Rick was passionate about raising a family in a small town, with strong values and a tight community. He was an active member of the Remer Volunteer Fire Department for many years and cherished his life-long friendships that he developed. Rick's pleasant demeaner and warm heart, were the primary characteristics that customers always felt when walking into his business. People truly gravitated toward him, as his charming personality was one of his greatest gifts.

Rick's greatest joy in life, were his grandchildren. Nothing brought him more peace and comfort. Countless hours cooking in the kitchen, making slime, activities outdoors, or simply just cuddling during Disney movies on repeat.

His family absolutely adored him. He was the heartbeat of their happiness and the center of their world. We are all so grateful to have had him in our lives.

Rick is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Betty Chasek, and Robert and Reta Blundell.

Rick is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Lisa Blundell; children, Jack (Nellie) Blundell, Stephanie (Kyle Schwartz) Blundell, Mercedes (Bryan) Bennett; grandchildren, Paisley, Raya, Lennon, Piper, Nathan, Jack, Ty, Nellee; parents, Ronald and Judy Blundell; brother, Ronnie (Robin) Blundell; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

No formal funeral services are planned at this time.
