Robert Bruce Coy, age 68, passed away at his home in Grand Rapids on October 1, 2024. Born on May 18, 1956, in Carmel, California, to Lois Rae (McAtee) Coy and Doulas Joseph Coy, Robert moved with his family to Grand Rapids in 1960. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1974 and went on to attend St. John's University.

Robert's career took him to Wyoming, where he worked for Pathfinder Uranium Corporation and later to Hudson, Wisconsin, where he served as a chemical analyst at 3M Corporation. He was married twice, first to Susan Cassell and later to Janice Savall.

Robert had a passion for hunting and fishing, particularly at the family cabin. He was an avid reader and cherished vintage movies and television.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, his parents, and his brother, Peter Andrew Coy. He is survived by his siblings, Mary Coy of Grand Rapids, Arthur (Deb) Coy of Esko, Paul (Helen Kumhera) Coy of Ham Lake, and Elizabeth (Mark Leonard) Coy of Eugene, Oregon; his sister-in-law, Penny Burds Coy of Glendale Heights, Illinois; as well as seven nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held in his honor.
