Robert "Bob" Martin, age 85, of Grand Rapids, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at his residence.
Bob was born in 1939 in Minneapolis, MN, and grew up in the cities area. He met Judith "Judy" Houska, and they were married August 26, 1961, and the pair embarked on their life journey together, raising three boys. Bob enlisted in the US Air Force in 1963, where he learned to work on airplanes. After 4 years on active duty, he joined the Air Force Reserves and remained there until his retirement in 1999. After his active duty, he worked for Northwest/Delta Airlines, where he worked until he retired in 2004.
Bob and Judy moved to Warba in 2014, where he enjoyed restoring old cars and motorcycles. He was a history buff, enjoyed traveling, a hard-working man that was always eager to help. Bob had a strong faith, and his family was everything to him. He was a member of the American Legion, and MN Street Rod Association, Bob was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and son Richard "Rick". Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy; sons, Ronald and Ross (Anette Nielsen); grandchildren, Robert (Courtney), Stephanie (Nicholas), Caitlin, Hanna, and Anders; and great grandchildren, Kenai, and Koah.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Community Bible Chapel in Cohasset, Minnesota beginning at 12:00 PM, lasting until the 1:00 PM memorial service. Rev. Joel Rygh will officiate, with Military Honors to follow.
