Roger James "Bubs" Erickson, age 88, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at Grand Village, Grand Rapids, MN.

Roger Erickson, born on January 10, 1936, in Splithand Township of Grand Rapids, MN, was the son of Jacob Albert and Margaret (Jones) Erickson. After serving in the United States Army for 22 years, he became a volunteer driver for over 20 years. Roger's love for his upbringing on the family dairy farm and his youth in the Grand Rapids community led him back to the area. He had various interests, including being a strong swimmer, avid bowler, and participating in baseball and other sports. However, his true passions were engaging in meaningful conversations and his family which he led with the spirit of adventure.

He is survived by his son, LeRoy Erickson; daughter, Jacqueline (Dan) Atkinson; granddaughters, Sara (Garrett) Hanson, Shannon (Zac) Cheney; sister-in-law, Ruth Erickson of Mexico City; and many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, MN. The visitation will continue on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids, MN, followed by the 11:00 am funeral service.  Burial will be at Harris Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN at a later date.
