Ronald Lee Rasmussen, age 79, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Grand Itasca Hospital and Clinic in Grand Rapids, MN.

Ronald was born in 1944 to Henry and Dorothy Rasmussen in Grand Rapids, MN. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1963, where he competed in gymnastics. He served in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne Division from 1964 until 1967. After his honorable discharge from service, he owned and operated his own radiator shop, Ron's Radiator, and also sold cars. On February 20, 1996, Ron was united in marriage to Sharon McGuire in Las Vegas, NV.  Ron and his wife, Sharon, made Christmas wreaths from 1996 until 2023 and they also owned and operated Beno's Pizza. His passion was building Rat Rods.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Adi Rasmussen; brother, Dennis Rasmussen; and sister, Sharon Rasmussen. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Kristi (Fred) Knight of Grand Rapids, MN, John (Carmen) Rasmussen of Tallahassee, FL, and Michael (JoAnn) Sonnier of Rochester, MN; sisters, Linda (Edwin) Mostoller of Grand Rapids, MN and Diana Ekholm of Grand Rapids, MN; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In honor of Ron's service to his country, full military honors will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Grand Rapids, MN and a celebration of Ron's Life will continue from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM also at the Fraternal Order Of Eagle, Grand Rapids, MN
