Ronny Dee Dahline passed away on July 28th doing what he loved most—working in his art studio.

Ron was born on March 11th, 1956 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, to Harvey and Dorrie Dahline. He was the second oldest of four brothers and one younger sister. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1975, where he was a talented wrestler, before earning an Art degree from Bemidji State University. After college Ron moved to Williston, Florida for many years before coming back to Grand Rapids to be closer to family in 2021.

From a young age, it was obvious that Ron was a gifted artist who saw beauty in the world where others may not. Over the years, he built a loyal following of fans and collectors through his ceramic and pottery work and was featured in galleries, exhibits, and festivals across the country. While he created thousands of art pieces, he touched countless more lives with his authenticity, quick wit, and zany sense of humor. He was a true artist with a larger-than-life imagination who was unapologetically himself.

Never one to turn away a stray, he loved his cat - Dolly, movie nights, bonding over hot sauces with his little sister, growing unique plants, the Florida Gators, anything lemon flavored, wrestling, insightful conversations (especially Wednesday afternoon chats with his brother-in-law, Jim), and time spent with his brothers. They had a language completely their own and to witness it was full of joy - often ending in tears from laughter. He is preceded in death by his greatly missed older brother, Alan Dahline, and beloved mother, Dorrie Dahline. Survived by his father, Harvey Dahline; his brothers, Robin (Cathe) Dahline and Thomas (Candice) Dahline; his sister, Beth (Jim) Sweeney; and nine nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many loyal friends, relatives and members of the art community who will miss him dearly.

There is a special place in heaven for artists like Ron whose creations bring happiness, connection and inspiration. The color he brought to our lives is already deeply missed.
