Royal Roger Hirt, age 82, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025 in Grand Rapids, MN.

Roger was born in 1942 in Grand Rapids, MN to Royal and Opal Hirt.  He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1960.  Roger worked in Wyoming for a few years before he joined his brother, Dale, and owned and operated Rapids Body Shop for over 40 years. On October 28, 1980, he was united in marriage to Hedy Goulet.  Roger was a life member of the NRA and a member of Itasca Masonic Lodge.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and competed in curling, archery, and black powder shooting tournaments.  Roger was passionate about his Airdale Terrier dogs.  He liked to do things on a whim like the time he decided to build his own wooden boat.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hedy; and his brothers, Dale (Katy) and Pat Hirt.

He is survived by his three nieces, Denise Hirt of Grand Rapids, MN, Lee (Kevin) Starr of Coleraine, MN, and Cheri (Paul) Karst of Pierz, MN.

Per Roger's request, no services will be held at this time. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Cohasset, MN at a later date.
