Samuel R.
Goss
d. Jun 4, 2023
Goodland
Samuel R. Goss, age 37 of Goodland, Minnesota died unexpectedly Sunday, June 4, 2023, in Lansing, Michigan while he was away from home working on the Pipeline.
Samuel Richard Goss was born February 17, 1986, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the son of Sandra Jo Goss and Richard Vincent. Sam grew up in Pengilly, Minnesota and graduated from Greenway High School. Following high school, Sam continued his education at Northwest Technical College in Bemidji and completed the course as a Residential Electrician. As a young man, Sam met Lindsay Miller and began a relationship with her! Together they celebrated two special anniversaries each year – Cinco de Mayo and the date of their marriage, September 24th!
Sam can be remembered as an extremely hard-working young man who always had a smile on his face – working to provide the greatest life for his family. He was always willing to lend a hand whenever and wherever he could. Sam was very proud to be the dad of his two precious daughters, Gemma Lou and Sutton Rae and would do anything for them! Sam worked as a Construction Laborer – building the Pipeline across the United States – from Oklahoma/Texas - Florida for more than a decade. His dedication to his job took him away from home for weeks at a time. When he was home, he was proud of the dream home and acreage he and Lindsay had purchased in Goodland and had unending plans to make this their lifetime residence. He enjoyed being outside, caring for their lawn, and when his limited time permitted, hunting. Hanging out with his friends and spending time with Lindsay and the girls brought him much happiness!
Sam will be deeply missed by Lindsay – "his Penguin" (wife of 10 years and his soulmate for 17 years); their two young daughters, Gemma Lou and Sutton Rae; mom and step-dad, Sandy and Steve Meyer; father, Richard Vincent; mother-in-law, Mary Lynn Olesen; step-brother, Jeremy Meyer; his second family, Larry and Ione (his "other" mother) Cline who lived next door; his "bonus" dad, Dave Rubesh – a huge part of his life and will continue to be; honorary brothers, Shawn (Shawnee) Cline, Luke Cline, Gavin Stocco, and Derek (Skyee) Staydohar; many Pipeline brothers and sisters; grandparents; aunts and uncles; cousins; nieces and nephews; and many family friends.
Lindsay is forever grateful for all the people Sam has worked with, his extended "road" family and all the people Sam met along the way. The love they all shared for Sam is immense.
Visitation and a Gathering of his family and friends will be Friday, June 16, 2023, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
