Sherrie M. Camire

Sherrie Myrinne Camire, age 70, of Burnsville, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the University of Minnesota – East Bank, surrounded by her loved ones.

Sherrie was born on September 29, 1955, in Spokane, Washington, to Wes Schoonmaker and Betty Bennett. She was also lovingly raised with her stepfather, David Bennett. Sherrie carried the love of her family with her throughout her life and created a lasting legacy of kindness, faith, and love.

Sherrie dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She graduated from Mesabi Range College in Eveleth, Minnesota, where she received the education that helped her pursue a career centered around compassion and caring for others.

Above all, Sherrie cherished her family. She shared a loving marriage with her husband, Joey Camire, and was a devoted mother to her son, John Batchelder. She treasured her nieces and nephews and took great joy in the people she loved. Her family was at the heart of her life, and those who knew her will remember the warmth, kindness, and love she freely gave.

Sherrie had a strong and enduring faith in Jesus Christ. Her faith was reflected in the way she lived—bringing light, comfort, encouragement, and love into the lives of those around her. She had a special gift for making people feel loved and cared for, and her presence touched many lives.

Sherrie was preceded in death by her parents, Wes Schoonmaker and Betty Bennett, and her stepfather, David Bennett.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Joey Camire; her son, John Batchelder; her sister, Joanne Vanina; her brothers, Arthur Schoonmaker, William Schoonmaker, and Michael Wilson; as well as her nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends who loved her dearly.

Though Sherrie’s passing leaves a deep emptiness in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, her light, her faith, and the love she gave so freely will remain with them always.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 5:00–8:00 PM at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. A private burial will be held at Wildwood Cemetery in Cohasset, Minnesota.

Sherrie’s life was a gift, her love was a blessing, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
