Steven B. Munger age 75 of Splithand Township in Grand Rapids, MN passed away in the Oncology Center at St. Mary's Essentia Health in Duluth, Minnesota.

Steven was born October 26, 1949 in Grinnell, Iowa to Percy and Edna Munger.  When Steven was a young boy, they moved to the Splithand area of Grand Rapids.

In 1968, Steven married Marilyn Johnson of Splithand, they had two sons, Wes and Scott.  Steven worked at UPM Blandin until his retirement.

Steven enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family and friends in Splithand, Iowa, and Montana.

Steven is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn; his sons, Wes (Debbie) and Scott (Rhonda); a granddaughter, Lexi; a grandson, Brody; and a "cousin who was like a daughter", Jessi Rutter.

Special thanks to the Essentia Oncology staff, both at Deer River and Duluth as well as the lab techs in Deer River for their outstanding care they provided to Steven.

A visitation to honor Steven will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, August 8, 2025 at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids followed by a Celebration of Steven's life on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 12 Noon – 3:00 PM at the Wildwood Town Hall in Splithand Township. Earl Petz, Chipper Paul, Keith Mathieson, Dwight Fisher, Chris Grover, Gary Prine, Brent Hagler and his twin sons, Chase and Tanner, Ken Dreke, and Doug Johnson have been honored as Honorary Urn Bearers.
