Terrence "Terry" Eugene Madsen, age 77, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026, at his home.

Terry was born in 1948 in Grand Rapids, MN to Alf T. and Isabelle Madsen. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1968 and then attended Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids, MN.  On August 7, 1971, he was united in marriage to Catherine Wick in Grand Rapids, MN.  Terry was employed with Northprint for 17 years prior to working for the Grand Rapids Township and later with the City of Grand Rapids where he was in the grounds maintenance department for Itasca-Calvary Cemetery.  He was a member of the Itasca Curling Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Grand Rapids Softball Association, and was a volunteer coach for Grand Rapids High School Girls Fastpitch Softball Team. Terry enjoyed watching all types of sports, would visit with anyone who was around him, and always enjoyed telling a good joke.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Isabella Kemper; and one brother, Alf R. Madsen.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Catherine "Cathy"; two daughters, Jennifer Madsen (Brian Mertes) of Duluth, MN, and Heidi (Josh) Sanders of East Bethel, MN; one sister, Karen Johnson of Lompoc, CA; 5 grandchildren, Kennedy, Makenna, Hunter, Carter, and Paisley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN with a memorial service to follow at 12 Noon at the funeral home.  Burial will be held in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN at a later date.

Terry's family requests that anyone attending the service, please wear sports attire that supports their favorite team in honor of him.
