Thomas Conrad Walters, age 84 of Grand Rapids, MN passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Americare Lodge Assisted Living.

Tom was born May 11, 1940, in Grand Rapids, MN to Kenneth and Lorraine (Kalstad) Walters.  He grew up in LaPrairie and graduated from Greenway High School with the Class of 1958.  Tom earned his degree in education from Winona State University and completed his graduate studies at St Cloud State University.

Tom was united in marriage to Myrle Jeanne Ramel on September 28, 1963, in Solon Springs, WI.  They moved to Remer, MN where Tom spent his career at the Remer/Longville schools.  Over the years he also enjoyed coaching football and wrestling.  In 1998 he retired from teaching and he and Myrle moved to Grand Rapids, MN.  Tom loved fishing, hunting, and spending time at the cabin.  He enjoyed all sports, especially his grandson's sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Myrle; daughter, Sandi; parents, Ken and Lorraine Walters.

Tom is survived by his son, Ken (Hope) Walters; two grandsons, Cole (Danielle), Dain; siblings, Marge, Doug (Jan), Ken (Lisa), Kathleen, Sue; many Wisconsin in-laws.

A visitation will be Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Grand Rapids, MN with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM.  Father Blake Rozier will officiate.  Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery, Cohasset, MN.
