Valdy Ernest Becker, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at his home in Grand Rapids, MN.

Born on November 8, 1945, to William and Floteal Becker, Valdy was a proud graduate of Greenway High School. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Valdy dedicated 33 years of his career to the Blandin Paper Company before retiring in 2001 as a coater operator.

Known for his love of the outdoors, Valdy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking, and held a special place in his heart for his grandsons and great-grandsons. As a devoted member of the Grand Rapids American Legion, he contributed to his community with pride.

He is preceded in death by wife Coleen; brother Romes and William; and sisters Darlene and Sharon.

Valdy is survived by his daughter, Dee (Mike) Auger; son Brian (Angela) Becker; 4 grandchildren: Justin, Colten, Zachary, and Evan; great-grandchildren: Zayne, Jaxson, Valdy; sisters: Joyce Frings and Bonnie Shafer; brother Gary Becker and Randy Becker.

A private burial will be held at a later date at Harris Cemetery.
