Vera A. Mahon, age 84, of Cohasset, MN passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026, from complications from a stroke suffered on March 20, 2026.

Vera was born on March 12, 1942, to Russell and Alberta Hickey in Yakima, WA. She grew up in Camas, WA, graduated from high school, and earned an associate's certificate from Clark Community College in 1962. Vera was united in marriage with Richard Holmes in 1962 and had two children, Derek and Wendy. Before becoming a mother, she worked as an administrative assistant at a bank and a boiler manufacturer and later at a number of nurseries. After the death of Richard in 1997, she married Jim Mahon in 2000 and moved to Grand Rapids, MN where they built their home on Loon Lake. Her passion was gardening where she had numerous small flower gardens around the home.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 10am at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN followed by the 11am memorial service. Lay pastor Mary Shideler will officiate.
