Veronica
Landrus
d. May 22, 2026
Grand Rapids
Veronica L. Landrus, age 58 of (Blackberry Township) passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side.
Veronica Linn was born December 25, 1967 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota to Barbara Ann and LeRoy Ernest Scovel, Sr. Their family made their home in many locations in Itasca County from Calumet to the Blackberry area.
As a young mother, Veronica was a hard worker. She worked in many different lines of work, however; she seemed to love working in the restaurant/fast food industry. She truly enjoyed working at McDonalds and later at Burger King as a Crew Worker.
When she was not working, spending time with her family and keeping busy made her very happy. Being outdoors was something she always looked forward to. Perhaps it was fishing, or family camping, or just playing yard games with her kids brought her great joy! A tradition that Veronica began and continued was Friday Night Pizza and Movie Night. Her family would eat pizza and settle in to watch a movie together. Veronica was an amazing animal and pet lover. Her competitive nature allowed her to be a good Video Game Player! She enjoyed being creative and liked to do crafts – especially Diamond Art.
Veronica will be deeply missed by: her daughter, NaTasha Landrus (James Waterbury); adopted daughters, Melissa (Alfred) Garner and Tasha (John) Mattson; sons, Justin (Tiffany) Scovel, Bryan King, Keith Scovel, and Shawn Landrus; adoptive son, Matthew (Kristine) King; 13 grandchildren; her sister and best friend, Earnett King (Glen Landrus); brothers, LeRoy (Barbara) Scovel, Jr., Terry (Roberta) Scovel, and Ralph (Angie) Scovel; her step-mother, Edith Siltman; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Barbara Scovel; her son, Joshua Scovel in 2019; grandchildren, Harold King, Tony Scovel, and Sammy Chapman; and brother-in-law, Leonard King.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 Noon – 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Blackberry Town Hall, Blackberry, Minnesota.
