Viola Bibich Korol, age 98 of Grand Rapids, Minnesota passed away January 25, 2025 with family at her side.

Viola was born in Bovey, Minnesota on December 9, 1926, the daughter of Tonika (Shustarich) and Joseph Bibich and grew up in Bovey, attending Greenway High School, Class of '44 and Itasca Junior College (ICC).

Over the years, Vi was employed at Oliver Mining Company offices, Blandin Paper Company, Fargo Public Schools and later at Bristol Bay Telephone Cooperative in King Salmon, Alaska.  She and her husband, George Korol retired back to the Grand Rapids area in 1983.

Vi enjoyed the large family and friends over the years.   Traveling, plenty of fishing both in the Summer and the Winter, sight-seeing, ceramics, spending time with the fine people with whom she worked with here in Minnesota, Fargo, ND, and Alaska were ways she enjoyed spending her time.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George L. Pearson who died in 1960, the father of her three beloved and special sons and her second husband, George Korol in 2021.  She is also preceded in death by her parents, and eleven brothers and sisters.

Viola will be deeply missed by her sons, Gary (Diana) Pearson, George (Mayolo who died in July 2024) Pearson, and Karl (Deb) Pearson; grandsons, Matthew (Sarah) and Brent (Lindsay) and great grandchildren, Kloey, Hayden, Lila, Nora, and Myles; sister, Deloris Peluso; and special nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life to honor Viola will be held at 1 PM, Friday, June 6, 2025 at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids followed by interment in Itasca Calvary Cemetery.
