Vivian Deloris Kostka, age 98 passed away Monday, June 10, 2024, at Majestic Pines, Grand Rapids, MN.

Vivian was born on March 31, 1926, in Brooten, Minnesota and grew up on the Family Farm in Belgrade, Minnesota.  She finished her schooling through 8th grade, enjoyed growing up on the farm milking cows, working in the garden and playing guitar/singing.  She later met and married Elmer Olson and had 11 eleven children and lived in Grand Rapids for 27 years.  She then met and married Charles Kostka on July 10, 1976, in Mt. Iron, Minnesota for 47 years.

Vivian and Charles (Chuck) following retirement moved back to Grand Rapids and became members of Salem Lutheran Brethren Church.

Vivian is preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Ovedia Kalland, husband Charles Kostka, children Elaine Olson, Eleanor Olson, Joyce (Powers) Olson, Joseph Olson and Elwood Olson, and sisters Helen Ruud and Lorraine Sampson.

Vivian is survived by children Sharon Braden of Shreveport, LA, Keith Olson of Hibbing, MN, Marvin Olson of Hibbing, MN, Linda (Everett) McCormick of Babbitt, MN, Cathy (Chris) Swapp of Cottonwood, AZ, Colleen Olson of Hibbing, MN, Michelle (Rob) Spruck of Rosemount, MN; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Vivian lived a long and fulfilling life and a love for Jesus, red lipstick, red nail polish and high heels!

A visitation will be held Monday, June 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Salem Lutheran Brethren Church, Grand Rapids, MN with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM.  Reverend Wayne Quam will officiate.  Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine, MN.
